About Us
Let's start with Valencia. This is after all, the best thing about Solmart. That it's nestled within the verdant, first-class Municipality of Valencia in the Province of Negros, Oriental.
Known as the "Little Baguio" of the Philippines, Valencia was also once named the Cleanest and Greenest Municipality in Negros Oriental in 2007. There's no surprise there. As soon as you enter the municipality, you will be greeted with tall Acacia trees with lush, green leaves and you'll realize you're not in the big city anymore as you breathe in the fresh breeze. Valencia also enjoys a close proximity to Dumaguete City, making city-life easily accessible.
Solmart is located just right across the Valencia Park, which is its best amenity. Day through night, you can enjoy the peaceful views of the park and Valencianon daily life from your table as you enjoy our great food; simple Valencia home-style pizza or maybe you'll want to order a little Pinoy goodness in a plate: the good old Silog meal. Our premium ingredients will make this Pinoy staple a little more special. To satisfy your cravings even more, we serve flavored french fries that rival those french fries stalls you find in big city malls. We also serve the best ice cream shake in town!
A little bit of history: Solmart is now owned and managed by Valencianon Kirk Amores Sonjaco. "Solmart" is a combination of the names of Soledad Amores, his grandmother and Marita Sonjaco, his mother - two of the most important women in his life and the original owners of Solmart.
For years, Solmart has been part of Valencia's local history; it was a small yet popular sari-sari store/carenderia during his grandmother's time. Grandma Amores, as she is affectionately called, passed on the space to Marita. She carried on the tradition of serving good home-cooked meals. It wasn't until 2012 that she decided to turn it into a pizza franchise and the humble carenderia became the first ever restaurant to serve pizza in Valencia. Sadly, months after, she passed away.
Marita then left Solmart in the capable hands of her son, Kirk. He has carried on his family's small business and has turned into what it is today - a small, family-owned business that serves good food for all Valencianons.
